TSD Rental LLC (TSD) began over 25 years ago as The System Distributors with the purpose of developing a car rental software product that would maximize control, accuracy, security, and profit for car rental operations. Today, TSD provides not only software, but information systems technology in the form of applications, interfaces, web services, and hosting services to rental car agencies, dealerships and manufacturers; customers, both nationwide and international, include individual operations and Fortune 500 companies. The primary market for TSD products consists of rental car companies, automobile manufacturers, new and used car dealerships which provide courtesy loaner vehicles, alternate transportation or rental cars for service customers, and body and repair shops which provide rental cars for their customers.
Rental Industry Innovation
The first product was labeled The Controller and was a DOS/UNIX based product, designed specifically for the local car rental company’s insurance replacement market. Product demand grew and many enhancements to the counter management system were introduced, increasing its utilization across additional markets and adding functionality such as Credit Card Processing and integration with popular Accounting packages. In the 1990s with the advent of Microsoft’s Windows operating system, TSD channeled its development resources into creating what was first marketed as Controller for Windows. It has evolved into today’s TSD RENTAL Management Software, offered originally as an on-premises application, and later, with the option of a hosted solution. Customer demand and TSD’s sensitivity to market changes drove TSD to create a new architectural platform and a completely web-based rental management product known as TSD RENTAL.NET Management Software - The industry leading car rental software.
Web-Based Technology Solutions
At the request of Lexus, TSD began development on a product to manage dealership service loaner fleets. This required reporting tools specific to manufacturers and a reduced need for financial calculations. The resulting products were TSD Lexus LOANER Management Software, TSD LOANER Management Software, and ATMS, the privately labeled and customized Alternate Transportation Management System developed for BMW of North America, all web-based solutions. Both the LOANER products and the RENTAL products integrate with popular Dealer Management Systems such as ADP and Reynolds and Reynolds.
Reservation and Rate Management
EDiCAR is a web service developed to manage communication between rental car companies and insurance agencies. RezCentral is a centralized reservation and rate management system with reporting features which when used with TSD RENTAL and TSD RENTAL.NET products, creates a bi-directional interface between GDS providers, independent Internet distribution channels, and independent car rental company websites for presenting fleet availability and rates to
potential customers.
TSD Support is with You Every Step of the Way
The Support Services Department is organized into three main teams: New Customer Support (NCS) and Training, Forms Customization and the Call Center. New Customer Support team members work with new customers to guide them through the implementation process with dedicated staff for implementation, technical support, and guided on-line training sessions. Forms Customization staff ensure that TSD software will print the correct information, in the correct area, on the customers’ correct forms. The Call Center provides tiered support in an ACD environment so that customers are assisted as quickly as possible. All staff members are located here in North Andover, Massachusetts, with current office hours of 8AM to 7PM, Monday through Friday, in order to provide live support services for as many customers as possible. TSD recognizes that the information technology it provides its customers is vital to the operation of their businesses and therefore provides 24x7x365 Critical Support for all hosted solutions.
24x7x365 Security, Performance and Peace of Mind
As an Application Service Provider, TSD hosts and stores all customer data at NaviSite (www.navisite.com), a secure data center located in Andover, Massachusetts. The servers and other hardware required store applications and databases and are continuously monitored and updated with the latest technology available as part of TSD’s partnership with NaviSite. Due to the high volume of credit card processing transactions handles for its customers, TSD was designated as a Level One Provider by the Payment Card Industry and was successfully certified, ensuring that customer credit card transactions and business data is transmitted and retained in a secure environment.
