Location Overview
In 1997, the first Access Car Rental opened in Nashville, TN. Servicing the insurance replacement and local market, Access immediately began to build on reputation and word of mouth. As word of their quality service spread, expansion was rapid. Eight years later, Access Car Rental has 25 locations across Tennessee and Kentucky, and plans to have six more by the end of 2005. The majority of their business is done in the local market, with about 60% coming from insurance replacement.

Access Car Rental began their operations with The Controller, TSD's legacy DOS-based product. Today they use a variety of TSD products, including TSD RENTAL Management Software for their counter, fleet, and reporting needs.

Mark Mooneyham, President of Access Car Rental, credits a variety of sources for their rapid expansion and success. “We do what we tell people we're going to do,” he says of their stellar reputation in the local market. “We don't tell customers no. If a customer has a need, we find a solution.” This can-do attitude has helped Mark and his staff win many accounts and open multiple locations, and in turn, Access has become a company attractive to large accounts because of its size.

Managing Growth with TSD
TSD's products have also aided Access' tremendous growth. “The TSD system and EDiCAR are stable and easy to get information out of,” says Mark. “Having a system that is easy to manage is critical to our growth.”

All Access locations operate on TSD RENTAL Management Software for fleet management and counter operations. In addition, they utilize the Credit Card Processing Module, allowing for direct connection to their processor for more timely access to funds. TSD’s Real World Accounting Interface integrates their business office and counter operations for increased efficiency.

TSD's RezCentral and WebLink products expand Access' ability to get reservations online. EDiCAR links Access to a number of insurance agents and has served them well in gaining insurance replacement business.

TSD RENTAL and EDiCAR help Access manage their booming insurance replacement business. Billing issues are especially important in the local industry, where more than one person may be invoiced on a single rental. “TSD has the billing part down pat and that is a competitive edge for us with dealers and insurance companies,” says Mark of TSD RENTAL's split billing option.

RezCentral increases Internet reservation opportunity by linking Access with Internet booking search engines, and WebLink gives Access a fully integrated booking engine through their own website. “Through TSD, we are able to go online, manage rates, easily do whatever we need,” says Mark. Thanks to RezCentral, one easy online process updates rate information with all the booking engines to which Access is linked.

Mark estimates that 10% of Access’ retail business comes from their website, but the value of the site is much larger than as an advertising tool. “The number of hits we get is phenomenal,” he says, predicting that a lot of customers go online to check rates and then call to book.

Expanding Statewide, Staying Local
Access Car Rental has experienced 50% growth over the past two years, and the trend appears to be continuing. By the end of 2005, they expect to have the entire state of Tennessee covered, and they are opening a location that will handle trucks and vans specifically. Their expansion has been aided by the right tools from TSD… and the right attitude.

“We're still a small company. We're local,” remarks Terry Overstreet, Corporate Vice President. She notes that when a new location opens, Access representatives go out to area dealers, body shops, and insurance agencies to get their business. Their small business attitude, coupled with their corporate influence, has led to some fantastic references and word-of-mouth-advertising that money can't buy. With TSD products working to keep their business running smoothly and expanding steadily, Mark and the team at Access are able to focus on growing their solid reputation.
