(Massachusetts, 6-1-06)-TSD, the leaders in rental management technology and software, recently made available a Debit and Prepaid Credit Card Check Module to the thousands of customers using TSD RENTAL Management Software. The module checks any credit card presented to see if it is a debit or pre-paid credit card, which can often be problematic in collecting payment and are sometimes used by customers with unfavorable credit histories.
The module is part of the TSD RENTAL Management Software version 4.1.5, which featured a variety of security updates. When running a credit card, the software checks the number against a database of pre-paid credit and debit card numbers. Should the credit card number match that database, the counter agent will receive a warning. Depending on their access level as set up in the software, he or she will either be unable to accept the card as payment or, with proper permission, will be able to override the warning and accept the card. In either case, the risk of unknowingly accepting a card with insufficient funds for a rental or deposit is eliminated.
Customers can activate this module by calling their TSD Sales Representative or emailing sales@tsd-inc.com. In order to activate the module, the customer must be running TSD RENTAL Management Software Version 4.1.5. All ASP customers and any customer with a current support subscription are eligible for this module.
